“To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.” Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”
Every man is a kind of business man; we all do business one way or the other. Whatever you do for a living, it is a business of a kind. Besides, we are all involved in buying and selling one way or the other.
Business is about profit. The aim of every good business person is to maximise profit. In order to achieve this aim, every man involved in business must be prudent. Business decisions are not taken carelessly and abysmally.
Adam and his wife were bad business people; they incurred a monumentally huge loss in their business with the serpent. They lost everything; all the fruits in the garden, their paradise home, the peace with themselves and God, the fellowship with their maker, their divine nature, their eternal nature, their glory covering, just everything in one single business. What a bad business.
Eve was too naïve; she did not consider the real consequences of what the serpent was luring her to do. Just one transaction and everything was gone. What type of business is this? She was transacting business with a master swindler, the master schemer. What a pity!
You see, sin is a type of business; it is a spiritual business transacted with the devil. It is a business that has never brought any profit to any man. In the business of sin, you will never gain, no man has ever gained; everyone in that business is and will always be a loser. The perceived gain in sin is always tantalizing especially as presented by the master schemer. The offer is always mouth-watering; if you do not have a deep second thought, you will fall for it.
Anytime you are in bargaining with the master swindler, he will make you see one thousand and one reasons why you will rush at his offer. He will make you believe that sin is sweet, pleasurable and absolutely free. He did that for David when he made him see a free woman in Bathsheba. For Samson, Delilah was another free Philistine girl, the type he was used to. To Judas Iscariot, it was a free thirty pieces of silver. For these men and many like them in the bible and in contemporary history, it was a wise decision to transact business with sin and in the end, they lost everything. Men are still losing today; they are losing their destinies and their eternity in that illicit business of sin.
Beloved, sin will never bring you any profit; it will make you an eternal loser. If in doubt, put a call through to Adam and ask him. You can do this by reading your bible again and again trusting the Lord to open your eyes to the truth. If you gain anything temporarily from sin, it is bait. It is like that game they play at the casino. We call it “kalokalo” (that which swallows everything) in Yoruba in those days. You put your coin there and it brings you three coins. Then you start to put each coin there one by one until you donate all you have. At a point when you are about to stop, it will vomit five or ten coins to encourage you to put more. Stop that business; break yourself free from the slave market of sin. Go to Jesus and tell Him how tired you are in continuing your sin. Break yourself free now when it is possible to do so. Do not wait until you lose everything before you stop. Nobody has ever made profit out of sin; it will not begin with you!
TODAY’S PRAYERS
i. Appreciate God for the gift of today and all the blessings you will receive today.
ii. Father, make me wiser than the devil in all areas of my life from today in the name of Jesus.
iii. Powers set from the pit of Hell to destroy my destiny, be consumed in fire now in Jesus name.
iv. I will not labour in vain this week and throughout this month in Jesus name.
v. Angel of help, appear for all my needs today in the name of Jesus.
I speak life and light into your life today in Jesus name.
Every hidden agenda of Satan to sell out your eternity is hereby nullified and wiped out in Jesus name.
Your eternity will not be a sell-out in Jesus name.
